CTOnews.com, February 4, according to the Wall Street Journal, sources revealed that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is preparing to file a potential antitrust lawsuit against Amazon. In the coming months, FTC is likely to pose an anti-competitive challenge to a range of business practices at the tech giant.

Some of the sources said the timing of the lawsuit was still uncertain. FTC can also choose not to file a lawsuit, even if it is about to do so, which may not necessarily lead to a lawsuit. At the same time, Amazon has not yet held a separate late-stage meeting with each of the FTC commissioners to present their arguments against the legal challenge.

It has been revealed that FTC has been reviewing Amazon's practices in recent years, including whether the company favours its own products over competitors' products on its platform, and how it treats outside sellers on Amazon.

In addition, FTC has been reviewing the bundling of its Prime subscription service. CTOnews.com has learned that it is not yet known which businesses FTC will target in potential Amazon lawsuits.
