CTOnews.com February 4 news, according to foreign technology media Ars Technica reported that security companies Spamhaus and abuse.ch jointly released a report that hackers tried to spread malicious Mac software through Google search results.

Hackers use ads that pop up when Google searches for software to spread. CTOnews.com learned that these ads often appear at the top of search results, and users may mistakenly assume that they are legitimate websites, and then download Mac software containing malicious code in the redirected pages.

Spamhaus noted in the report that hackers implanted malware such as XLoader in several popular Mac apps, such as Mozilla Thunderbird and Microsoft Teams, that could record user keyboard strokes and steal users 'personal data.
