CTOnews.com news on February 4, according to foreign technology media AppleInsider reports, Mac users reported that after upgrading to the macOS Ventura system, other local Mac / Windows / iPhone devices will not be able to access their shared content. It is not clear exactly how many users are affected.

CTOnews.com searched the relevant user feedback and media reports and found that both corporate and individual users reported network connection problems, most of which were SMB connection failures, but there were too many reports and too many reports to determine the specific cause.

Individual Mac users can theoretically connect to a network or other machine using the "Connect to Server" option directly from Finder's Go menu.

User tresinnoctem responded:

I created a file share using SMB and then accessed the files stored on MacBook Pro from my iPhone 12 over my local network. This feature has been powerful, reliable and fast in the past.

However, after I upgraded MacBook Pro to Ventura 13.0 and updated my iPhone to iOS 16.1, I could no longer access MacBook Pro from my phone and the old iMac running Monterey 12.6.

IPhone can continue to access file shares on the old iMac. The settings on MacBook Pro show that file sharing is enabled, but obviously not working.

In addition to individuals, the report also pointed out that corporate users also had some problems upgrading to macOS Ventura. Specifically, the best solution seen so far is for users to first turn off file sharing, then restart Mac, and then turn file sharing back on.
