CTOnews.com, February 4, according to the latest report released by market research firm TechInsights, the global tablet market shipped 44.2 million units in the fourth quarter of 2022, down 8% from the same period last year.

Among them, Apple and Samsung were the only two companies that showed positive growth in the quarter. Apple's iPad shipped 18.1 million units in the fourth quarter of 2022, up 15% from a year earlier and gaining 41% market share. Apple shipped 63.5 million iPad units in 2022, down 3% from a year earlier and accounting for 39% of the market.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung shipped 7.7 million units in the fourth quarter of 2022, an increase of 5% year-on-year and a 17% market share. Samsung shipped 30.2 million units in 2022, down 4% from a year earlier and occupying a 19% market share.

Amazon, Lenovo and Huawei ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively.

Apple's iPad business is doing better than last year, when supply chain problems severely limited their shipments.

Apple also launched the latest iPad Pro and the 10th-generation iPad with M2 chips, pushing up the global average price to $520.

Samsung is also doing very well on the Galaxy Tab S8 series. As users look for computing devices to do their work remotely, the high-end market is less likely to be affected by inflation.

Samsung is actively promoting an ecosystem strategy for phones, tablets, PCs and wearables to attract more users through cross-device marketing and features.
