CTOnews.com, Feb. 3, supply chain analyst Guo Mingyi said that Apple will not launch second-generation AirPods Max wireless headphones until at least the second half of 2024, and may not be able to update headsets until the first half of 2025.

In the latest series of tweets outlining his industry expectations, Mr Guo said he thought Apple's "next important acoustic product update" would take place between the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025.

Guo listed three products that will be upgraded during this period, including HomePod mini 2, AirPods Max 2 and the "low-cost version" of Apple AirPods. In previous forecasts, Guo Mingyi said Apple's goal is to price a more affordable standard version of the AirPods at $99. Currently, the $129 second-generation AirPods is the cheapest option for Apple's wireless headphones, while the third-generation AirPods with a Lightning charging box costs $169,and a charging box with MagSafe costs $179.

As for his expectations for AriPods Max 2, Guo did not provide any other details about Apple's high-end headset noise reduction headphones. CTOnews.com learned that the next generation of AriPods Max headphones are expected to include USB-C ports instead of Lightning, improved noise reduction, longer battery life, new color options, U1 chips for precise search in "check Find My", and so on. The Apple AirPods Max was launched in December 2020 and sells for $549.

Guo Mingyi report also said that investors are worried about the impact on existing orders and future new orders after Gale shares lose orders due to quality problems in AirPods Pro 2. However, the latest survey shows that investors are overly pessimistic about this. First, Gore is expected to resume production of AirPods Pro 2, which will help regain revenue and profit momentum. Second, orders for Gore AirPods 2, AirPods 3 and other parts have been determined not to be affected. Finally, Gore has received orders for HomePod mini 2 NPI and assembly, which are expected to be shipped in large quantities in 2H24. The conclusion is that Gore has had the worst negative impact due to AirPods Pro 2 quality problems, and the current situation is far better than investors thought.
