CTOnews.com February 3, the KDE project team today announced the update of KDE Gear version 22.12.2, which is the second maintenance update of the open source software suite, about a month after the last version.

KDE Gear is the name of a collection of KDE applications, frameworks, and libraries. KDE Gear 22.12.2 this update focuses on improving the Dolphin file manager so that type-ahead is no longer forced into Selection Mode if spaces are detected in the input characters.

This update also improves the Spectacle screenshot tool to remember the last rectangle box used instead of always before exiting the application. The Elisa music player improves the clarity of high-resolution album covers and looks better when using the zoom factor.

The K3b CD / DVD / BD writing application fixed an error that prevented you from adding files from the M3U playlist; the KAlgebra Mathematical Graphics Calculator application and Okular document viewer can now export main activities as required by Android 12; and the Kdenlive video editor fixed a crash when deleting caption clips and scene segmentation.
