CTOnews.com learned that Compusemble conducted benchmarking in PCIe 3.0,4.0 and 5.0 SSD using the Land of the Curse, using the pre-released Phison E26 reference platform.

As a result, the natural performance of PCIe 5.0 SSD is better, but it is not much different from that of the previous generation. The test results of PCIe 4.0 are basically the same as those of PCIe 5.0, with a gap of only a few tenths of a second.

However, the gap is more obvious on the PCIe 3.0 SSD, with a difference of 3 seconds for the longest load time. The maximum transfer rate of PCIe 3.0x4 is theoretically 4GB / s, and PCIe 3.0 SSD is supposed to maintain the necessary 2.4GB / s throughput specified by DirectStorage.
