Hideo Kojima explained that since the studio had only lighting experience in the CG environment, the development team asked Nishida to "demonstrate the basics of human lighting in order to familiarize them with the technology."

It is said that actor Kunashiri, who has been confirmed to play a role in death stranded 2, is acting as a model for the technology experiment. "it is very difficult for CG to correctly express the skin color, black hair and eyes of Asians. The appearance of Kunashiri in DS2 is a challenge for us. We will use new technologies that have not been used in the game before, but we must first go back to the visual basics and start experimenting."

Microsoft has previously said that because of the agreement between Kojima Productions and Sony PlayStation, "death stranded" cannot access the Xbox platform at all, so fans who do not want to buy a PS5 need to have a PC that can run it.
