Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, Feb. 3-Bloomberg's Mark Mark Gurman said in a new article that Apple will no longer have the role of chief product design officer (Product Design Chief) after Evans Evans Hankey left for a few months.

Evans Hankey on the left and Alan Dye on the right pointed out that Apple's product design team will be directly under the command of Jeff Williams, Apple's head of operations, which is undoubtedly a major internal adjustment for Apple.

Apple management believes that the move will give major product designers more control, but some employees are very unhappy with it. Alan Dye will continue to lead Apple's software design team, the report added.

An Apple spokesman announced in October last year that Evans Hankey would leave the company.

CTOnews.com learned that the position of chief product design officer was designed by Apple for Jony Ive, but that after he left in 2019, he was replaced by Evans Hankey. Now that Hankey has left, Apple plans to abolish the position.

It is not clear whether Apple changed the direction of the product after he left, putting more emphasis on function than design because of Jony Ive's departure.

For example, Apple has brought back ports such as MagSafe, HDMI and SD card readers on the high-end MacBook Pro, and returned to more traditional trackpads and layouts on some Apple TV Siri Remote.
