Changes and improvements [Start menu]

As early as October in Build 25227, we started experimenting with a small change to the Start menu, with some users seeing badging on their user profiles, informing them that certain actions needed to be taken. Starting today, we're starting a new exploration of the reminder corner on the Start menu, with two new treatments that some beta testers on the Dev channel will see. If you see one of these solutions, please let us know what you think. As a reminder, it's normal for us to try different concepts in the development channel to get feedback.

Fix different reminder corner treatment on Start menu [General]

We fixed an issue that caused Arm64 devices to fail to resume from sleep/hibernation when running Build 25281 and get stuck at the OS boot flag.

Fixed an issue where some Insiders might have problems accessing websites and other resources over VPN Connections.

Fixed an issue in recent Dev Channel releases that caused some insiders to experience freezes when using browsers and certain other applications.

[Taskbar and System Tray]

Fixed an explorer.exe crash that might cause some insiders to fail to load the taskbar.

[Search on Taskbar]

These fixes only apply to Windows Insiders who receive different treatments for Search on Taskbar, promoted to Insiders starting with Build 25252.

Fixed an issue where the search box sometimes disappeared randomly (leaving a blank space on the taskbar) when you clicked on it.

Fixed an issue where the search box moved slightly to the side when you clicked on it.

[Task Manager] Fixed an issue where the data content area of the Progress page might flash once when theme changes are applied in the Task Manager Settings page.

Fixed an issue where some dialogs did not appear with the correct theme when applied from the Task Manager Settings page.

Fixed an issue where attributes in the memory section of the performance page were truncated, even if there was room to display them.

Reduced transparency of chart colors in performance pages and adjusted borders to help make them stand out more.

Fixed several issues that caused Task Manager to crash.

Enter F in the search box and it should now work again.

You shouldn't make the task manager that wide now before the navigation pane appears.

If the text scale is increased, the search box should no longer overlap the title bar text.

Some adjustments have been made to account for text being cut off in dialog boxes when text scaling increases.

Fixed an issue where some parts of the title bar could not be used to drag windows.

[Windows Spotlight]

The following fixes apply only to Windows Insiders who receive one of the different Windows Spotlight treatments, which have been rolled out to Insiders since Build 25281.

We fixed an issue that caused some people not to refresh their images consistently every day.

[Settings]

Fixed an issue where preview of sans serif font sets in Personalization> Fonts showed broken glyphs.

[Other]

Fixed an issue that prevented Narrator from publishing drop-down lists in Excel.

Fixed a potential issue in the last few versions that could cause Snipping Tool screenshots to be stretched and distorted if you have multiple monitors.

Fixed an issue that could cause error checking of SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION.

Fixed an issue that might cause the Open With dialog to crash on startup.

Fixed an issue where the Open File dialog hung.
