CTOnews.com, February 1, Geekbench is a cross-platform benchmark for processing performance that can be divided into single-core and multi-core performance, as well as workload capabilities that simulate real-world usage scenarios. At present, there are Geekbench 2, Geekbench 3 Geekbench4 and Geekbench 5, and the latest version is Geekbench 5.5.

According to the latest revelations, a new generation of benchmark programs, Geekbench 6, is coming. Itnyang, the source, revealed that Geekbench 6 will be released on February 7.

John Poole, the developer of Geekbench, began testing Geekbench 6 as early as June 2022, when the tool seemed to be in debugging and encountered a score degradation problem.

John Poole said Geekbench 6 was originally scheduled for release on December 6, 2022, but later announced a postponement to the end of January or early February 2023, consistent with the timing of the revelations.

CTOnews.com learned that the latest version of Geekbench 5.5, released on January 16, 2023, improved hardware detection for systems with heterogeneous CPU cores, such as Apple M1 and Intel Alder Lake, and fixed a number of problems:

Fixed possible crash problems on systems using Intel sharp graphics cards.

Fixed an issue where the OpenCL benchmark could not be run on Android 12 or later.

Fixed a problem that might prevent the Vulkan benchmark from running on the latest GPU driver.

Improved hardware detection on recently released hardware.
