Of the more than 300,000 cars sold by Hyundai in January, 51503 were sold in the local market, up 11.5 per cent from a year earlier, and 254793 in overseas markets, up 7.8 per cent from a year earlier.

Hyundai also mentioned on its website that it sold nearly 14000 electric vehicles in January, mainly the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, which sold more than 9000.

For the whole of this year, Hyundai aims to sell 4.32 million vehicles (including luxury brand Genisse), with plans to sell 3.54 million in overseas markets and 781000 in its home market.
