CTOnews.com, February 1, Netflix announced in mid-January that it would step up its crackdown on password sharing in the first quarter of this year. Netflix is now available on the official FAQ page, detailing how password sharing will be blocked.

Netflix made it clear on the FAQ page that users who don't live together cannot share Netflix accounts. CTOnews.com learned that the platform will use information such as IP address, device ID, and account activity to determine whether the device logged into your account is connected to your primary location.

If the new device for the login account is in a different location, Netflix will need a temporary code that allows you to log in to that location for seven consecutive days. Netflix explained that people who travel with major equipment will have no problem using Netflix elsewhere. However, to ensure uninterrupted access to Netflix, you need to connect to Wi-Fi from the primary location at least once every 31 days.
