Beijing, Feb. 1 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft and Amazon are preventing employees from leaking secrets during use, forbidding them from sharing sensitive data with ChatGPT as the chat robot ChatGPT is increasingly used.

ChatGPT earlier this month, a Microsoft employee asked on an internal forum whether ChatGPT or any other products launched by its developer OpenAI could be used at work. A senior engineer in the office of Microsoft's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) responded that employees could use it as long as they didn't share confidential information with ChatGPT.

"Please do not send sensitive data to OpenAI terminals, as they may use it to train future models." The senior engineer wrote in an internal post. A spokesman for Microsoft, an investor in OpenAI, declined to comment.

Similarly, Amazon's corporate lawyers warn employees not to share "any Amazon confidential information (including the Amazon code you are writing)" with ChatGPT. "this is important because your input may be used as training data for further iterations of ChatGPT, and we do not want its output to contain or similar to our confidential information (I have seen examples where its output matches existing material very well)." The lawyer wrote.
