CTOnews.com, February 1, according to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Operation Monitoring and Coordination Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the Statistical Bulletin of Software and Information Technology Services in 2022 yesterday.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said that in 2022, China's software and information technology service industry (hereinafter referred to as "software industry") steadily improved, software business income jumped to 10 trillion yuan, profitability remained stable, and software business exports maintained growth.

Data show that in 2022, there were more than 35000 enterprises in the software and information technology service industry across the country, with software business income totaling 10.8126 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.2 percent over the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped 6.5 percentage points from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that in 2022, the total profit of the software industry was 1.2648 trillion yuan, up 5.7% from the same period last year; software business exports were 52.41 billion US dollars, up 3.0% from the same period last year, including 9.2% year-on-year growth in software outsourcing service exports.

The following is the full text of the Statistical Bulletin of Software and Information Technology Services of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2022:

In 2022, the operation of China's software and information technology service industry has improved steadily, the software business income has jumped to the level of 10 trillion yuan, the profitability has remained stable, and the software business export has maintained growth.

First, the overall operation of the software business revenue jumped to the level of 10 trillion yuan. In 2022, there were more than 35000 enterprises in the software and information technology service industry nationwide, with software business income totaling 10.8126 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.2 percent over the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped 6.5 percentage points compared with the same period last year.

In 2022, the profit of the software industry totaled 1.2648 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.7% over the same period last year, down 1.9% from the same period last year, and the profit margin of the main business fell 0.1% to 9.1%.

In 2022, software business exports totaled US $52.41 billion, up 3.0% from the same period last year, and the growth rate was 5.8% lower than that of the same period last year. Among them, the export of software outsourcing services increased by 9.2% over the same period last year.

In 2022, the revenue of software products was 2.6583 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.9% over the same period last year, down 2.4% from the same period last year, accounting for 24.6% of the industry's income. Among them, the income of industrial software products reached 240.7 billion yuan, an increase of 14.3 percent over the same period last year, 3.1 percentage points higher than the overall level of the industry as a whole.

Revenue from information technology services is growing rapidly. In 2022, the income of information technology services was 7.0128 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.7 percent over the same period last year, 0.5 percentage points higher than the overall level of the industry, accounting for 64.9 percent of the industry's income. Of this total, revenue from cloud services and big data services totaled 1.0427 trillion yuan, up 8.7 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 14.9 percent of the revenue from information technology services, accounting for an increase of 2 percentage points over the same period last year; revenue from integrated circuit design was 279.7 billion yuan, up 12.0 percent over the same period last year; and revenue from technical services for e-commerce platforms was 1.1044 trillion yuan, an increase of 18.5 percent over the same period last year.

Revenue from information security products and services has increased steadily. In 2022, revenue from information security products and services totaled 203.8 billion yuan, an increase of 10.4 percent over the same period last year, down 2.6 percent from the same period last year.

Embedded system software revenue is growing by double digits. In 2022, the revenue of embedded system software was 937.6 billion yuan, an increase of 11.3% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 7.7% lower than that of the same period last year.

The eastern region maintained relatively rapid growth, and the central and western regions showed outstanding growth. In 2022, the eastern, central, western and northeast regions completed software business income of 8.8663 trillion yuan, 539 billion yuan, 1.1574 trillion yuan and 249.9 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 10.6%, 16.9%, 14.3% and 8.7% respectively over the same period last year. Among them, the central and western regions are 5.7 and 3.1 percentage points higher than the national average. The software business income of the four regions accounted for 82.0%, 5.0%, 10.7% and 2.3% of the total national income, respectively.

In 2022, Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang, which ranked among the top five in software business revenue, completed a total income of 7.4537 trillion yuan, accounting for 68.9 percent of the national software industry and an increase of 2.9 percentage points over the same period last year. There are 12 provinces and cities where the growth rate of software business income is higher than the overall national level, of which the provinces with a growth rate of more than 20% are concentrated in the central and western regions, including Guizhou, Guangxi, Hubei and so on.

Figure 6 the growth of software business income in the top ten provinces and cities in 2022; software business income in central cities has increased steadily, while the growth rate of total profits has dropped slightly. In 2022, the software business income of 15 vice-provincial central cities across the country reached 5.3419 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.0 percent over the same period last year, down 6.3 percentage points from the same period last year, accounting for 49.4 percent of the national software industry. The total profit realized was 692.4 billion yuan, an increase of 2.4 percent over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 2.1 percentage points lower than that of the same period last year. Among them, the year-on-year growth rate of software business income in Wuhan, Ningbo, Jinan, Qingdao and Shenyang exceeds the overall level of the industry.
