CTOnews.com February 1, the research institute statcounter released the February 2023 report, revealing the latest statistics about browsers.

Among all platforms, Chrome ranked first with 65.4 per cent global market share in January, up 0.72 per cent from 64.68 per cent last month. Safari ranked second with 18.71 per cent, up 0.42 per cent from the previous month with 4.46 per cent and up 0.23 per cent from the previous month. Finally, Firefox ranked fourth with a 3 per cent share, down 0.01 per cent from the previous month. Browsers such as Samsung, Opera and UC have carved up the remaining market share.

On the desktop side, Chrome ranked first with 66.39 per cent of the global market share in January, up 0.25 per cent from 66.14 per cent last month, with 11.09 per cent share, up 0.11 per cent from the previous month, with 9.33 per cent, and up 0.32 per cent from the previous month. Finally, Firefox ranked fourth with 6.87 per cent, down 0.34 per cent from the previous month. Browsers such as Opera, 360secure browsers and IE carve up the rest of the market.

CTOnews.com learned that the overall share of Microsoft Edge as a dark horse rose steadily to 11.09% from December 2019 to January 2023, while Firefox Firefox showed a significant decline, from about 10% at the beginning of 2020 to 6.87% today.

On the mobile side, Chrome ranked first with 65.35% global market share in January, up 1.04% from 64.31% last month. Safari ranked second with 24.45% share, up 0.90% from the previous month. Samsung browser ranked third with 4.46% share, down 0.60% from the previous month. Finally, Opera ranked fourth with 1.78% share, up 0.14% from the previous month. Browsers such as UC, Android and Firefox carve up the rest of the market.
