Beijing time on the evening of January 31, according to reports, investment bank Wedbush analyst Dan Ives (Dan Ives) said today that Apple will not cut thousands of jobs like other large technology companies, because CEO Tim Cook (Tim Cook) runs Apple very well.

Last week it was reported that Apple had begun laying off some non-seasonal employees in retail channels other than Apple's Apple Store. Some Apple retail channel employees who work in stores such as Best Buy have received layoffs.

In addition, Apple has laid off 100 contract recruiters. But so far, Apple has not cut as many jobs as other big technology companies.

In response, Ives, an analyst at Wedbush, an investment bank, said: "Apple has never hired employees as hard as other tech giants. So you will only see them cutting costs on the edge. They are tacticians and intelligent."

Mr Ives added: "this explains why Cook is a Hall of Fame CEO. I think he can handle the current situation without the need for layoffs like other technology companies."

Compared with 2021, Apple's number of employees increased by only about 7% in 2022. If Ives' prediction is correct, it means that Apple will be an exception to the technology industry.

Prior to that, Salesforce had announced 10% layoffs of about 8000 people, Microsoft 10,000 layoffs, Amazon 18000 layoffs, Meta 10,000 layoffs, and Snap layoffs 20% Robinhood layoffs 23%.
