CTOnews.com learned that Huirong's announced SM2508 performance level PCIe 5.0 SSD master uses 12nm process, 8-channel design, supports 3200MT / s flash memory, and comes out in January 2023.

The mainstream-level SM2504XT master uses a more advanced 7nm process, a 4-channel design, and supports 3600MT / s flash memory, which is expected to be available in September 2023. The power consumption of SM2504XT master control is expected to be lower, which is suitable for mobile devices such as laptops.

AMD has said that the PCIe 5.0 SSD went on sale in November last year, but until now there are no consumer-grade models on the domestic market.

PCIe Gen 5.0SSD, owned by Japanese manufacturer CFD Gaming, has taken the lead in listing overseas, with the 2TB priced at 49980 yen (currently about 2609 yuan). This PCIe 5.0SSD is equipped with the group E26 master of 12nm TSMC process, and the speed is only 10GB / s. It is expected that the PCIe 5.0SSD, which is controlled by advanced technology and with higher speed, will be on the market in large quantities in 2024.
