Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Hello, everyone. I am the network manager. Let's take a look at the ranking of the needs of the major programming needs in 2022. This ranking is quite unexpected, we (here we refer to Go programmers ๐Ÿ˜‚) all think "did not fall" PHP, they live well, what is the specific ranking? Let's take a look.

Over the past 14 months (from October 2021 to November 2022), DevJobsScanner analyzed the requirements of more than 12 million developer positions and selected jobs that clearly require programming languages, and has identified the eight most popular programming languages in 2022.

At present, the top eight languages in demand in the market are:

1 ใ€ JavaScript / TypeScript

JavaScript has been popular since its inception. At present, Javascript is still the most needed programming language in the entire market, and the arrival of TypeScript may have contributed to this milestone. The popularity of TypeScript has only increased in recent years, and many new JavaScript frameworks are written entirely in TypeScript, such as Angular or NestJS.

From October 2021 to November 2022 (14 months), DevJobsScanner identified 801K jobs, accounting for about 31 per cent of jobs with clear programming language requirements.

Jobs Found: 801K (~ 31%)

Keywords: javascript, typescript, react, angular, vue, node.

2 ใ€ Python

Python has become the second most demanding programming language in 2022. DevJobsScanner says its versatility, from scripting to running servers to data analysis, has been the key to achieving this milestone. In addition, Python's community is one of the best and most comprehensive.

During the 14 months, researchers found a total of 515000 jobs, accounting for 20%.

Jobs Found: 515K (~ 20%)

Keywords: python, django, flask.

3 ใ€ Java

Java is the third most popular programming language and has been very popular since it was founded in 1995. Although this popularity has declined over the past few years with the advent of more modern languages such as Kotlin, it remains firmly in the top three. There are many well-known companies using frameworks like Spring, which also helps Java maintain this position.

Jobs Found: 443K (~ 17%)

Keywords: java, spring.

4 ใ€ C#

C # is a universal, multi-paradigm, object-oriented programming language, mainly created to address some of the weaknesses of C++. As a universal language, C # has a wide range of use cases. The most common use of C # is with the .NET Framework. It is also heavily used for scripting in the Unity game framework. Both .NET Framework and Unity are popular among top companies.

Jobs Found: 305K (~ 12%)

Keywords: c#, .net.

5 ใ€ PHP

PHP, which was born 27 years ago, is still the fifth most popular programming language. During these 14 months, researchers found a total of 226000 related jobs, accounting for about 10%.

Jobs Found: 226K (~ 9%)

Keywords: php, laravel, wordpress.

6. CAccord Clippers +

It has been 50 years since the C language was first released, and 37 years have passed since the birth of C++. The original name of C++ is "C with Classes". In this long time window, C / C++ has maintained its popularity through regular additions and improvements to the language. Modern C++ includes object-oriented, generic and other features. It is widely used in the industry, and C++ can be seen in many places, such as video games, servers, databases, and even space detectors.

Jobs Found: 213K (~ 8%)

Keywords: C, caterpillar.

7 ใ€ Ruby

Ruby ranked seventh, finding 125000 jobs (about 5 per cent of total job demand). Its most popular use is in conjunction with the Web framework Ruby on Rails. Although the top seven may not look very high, Ruby is used by some of today's big technology companies, such as Twitter, Crunchbase or Github.

Jobs Found: 125K (~ 5%)

Keywords: ruby, ruby on rails

8 ใ€ GO

Go is a young language created by Google 12 years ago. Google designed Go to improve programming efficiency in an era of multi-core, networked machines and large code bases. As shown in the figure below, the popularity of Go is slowly growing, and DevJobsScanner predicts that the language may enter the top five by 2023. Companies such as Uber and Twitch are using Go.

Jobs Found: 53K (~ 2%)

Keywords: go

The programming languages in greatest demand (complete list) the following is a complete chart of the programming languages in 2022 and their respective requirements:

And the same view broken down by month:

Summary

DevJobsScanner points out that it is clear that Javascript and Typescript do dominate the developer job market. Javascript and Typescript together account for 31% of jobs that clearly need a programming language, which means that almost one in three jobs requires Javascript or Typescript.

Python and Java are the second and third most popular programming languages in 2022, respectively, providing a large number of jobs. But it is worth noting that Java is narrowing the gap with Python, with Java having more jobs than Python for a few months in the survey. "as a result, those who say Java is an outdated programming language may need to rethink the wording."

C #, C / C++ and PHP are also languages of concern because they have a consistent upward trend. In particular, the demand for PHP accounted for only about 5% of the total demand in October 2021, but it has nearly doubled by November 2022, which is a bit of a surprise.
