According to the website of the Tianjin Municipal people's Government, the Tianjin regulations on Fire Safety Management of High-rise buildings (hereinafter referred to as "the regulations") was adopted on December 9, 2022, and will come into force tomorrow (February 1, 2023), according to the CTOnews.com news on January 31.

The regulations point out that new high-rise buildings should, in accordance with the relevant norms and standards of the state and this city, plan and build places for centralized parking and charging of electric vehicles, and be equipped with safe charging facilities with functions such as regular charging, automatic power outage, fault alarm, and so on. The centralized charging facilities for electric vehicles set up in high-rise residential buildings and high-rise public buildings that implement residential electricity prices shall be subject to the price of residential electricity consumption. Where there are other provisions of the State, the relevant provisions of the State shall be followed.

The regulations make it clear that charging electric vehicles should meet the safety requirements for the use of electricity. It is forbidden to park electric cars in public areas such as shared walkways, stairwells and safety exits in high-rise buildings. It is forbidden to bring electric vehicles or electric vehicle batteries into the elevator car.
