CTOnews.com, January 31, General Motors spokesman Nicole Schmitz said that the company has started production of the SUV version of Hummer electric vehicles at Plant Zero in Michigan. Detroit News reported on Monday that the car would be delivered by the end of the first quarter, in line with GM's official statement that the SUV would be available "in early 2023."

This time the SUV version is produced, and GM began shipping a truck version of the Hummer EV in December 2021. In October 2022, GM announced that it had built 782 Hummer EV during 2022, and said it had about 90,000 bookings for both the truck version and the SUV version. Last summer, the Wall Street Journal reported that GM only produces about 12 Hummer electric cars a day. GM expects production of the Hummer EV series to be much faster than last year.

CTOnews.com learned that the Hummer EV provides three sets of power systems with single motor, dual motor and three motors, with a maximum power of more than 1000 horsepower, a maximum torque of more than 15592N ·m, a 100km acceleration of less than 3 seconds, and a shoulder-to-shoulder acceleration performance. In addition, the car also has "crab" mode (Crab Walk), can achieve four-wheel steering function, equipped with adaptive air suspension system, can provide strong passing performance. In terms of the most interesting charging range, the Hummer EV will match GM's latest Ultium battery pack, with a capacity of between 50 and 200kWh, and can use 350kW high-speed charging posts to add 160km of mileage in 10 minutes, with some models reaching a range of about 640km.
