In fact, AMD's market capitalization has crossed Intel's many times in recent years. On July 29, 2022, for example, AMD had a market capitalization of about $153.737 billion, while Intel had a market capitalization of about $148.461 billion.

Intel announced its results for the fourth quarter and the whole year of 2022 in the early morning of the 27th Beijing time, which failed to meet market expectations and fell sharply by 32%. The lowest quarterly income since 2016.

At the same time, Intel gave pessimistic guidance on the market's performance in the first quarter. The company expects first-quarter adjusted revenue of between $10.5 billion and $11.5 billion, well below market expectations of $14 billion, and an adjusted gross profit margin of 39 per cent for the first quarter, which is expected to be 45.5 per cent.

Affected by this, Intel's share price fell sharply before the next day's trading. At one point, it even fell by $27.05 a share, the biggest drop of 10.10%.
