CTOnews.com, January 30 (Xinhua) earlier this month, Samsung announced that it would bring its Samsung Wallet (Samsung Wallet) to eight countries, including India. However, the company has not announced a release date. Now, Samsung has announced the launch of Samsung Wallet in India.

The Samsung Pay launched in India in the past few years is being upgraded to Samsung Wallet. The new application can store credit / debit cards, digital currency, digital keys, login passwords and health / vaccine passes. Similar to Samsung Pay, it allows users to pay for purchases through mobile transactions via NFC and UPI (India market only).

CTOnews.com has learned that from now on, Samsung Wallet will be available through Galaxy Store as an upgraded version of Samsung Pay. All smartphones running Samsung Pay can eventually be upgraded to Samsung Wallet. Samsung is likely to launch Samsung Wallet in more countries in the next few days.

Samsung has worked with several national banks to make its credit and debit cards compatible with India's Samsung Pay. However, it only applies to AMEX, MasterCard and VISA cards in India. The RuPay card is not yet compatible with Samsung Pay.
