CTOnews.com January 30 news, Canon has now released its latest financial results for fiscal year 2022. At today's earnings meeting, Canon said it sold 176 chip steppers in 2022, an increase of 36 over the same period last year. The company said it plans to sell 195 semiconductor steppers in 2023.

On December 6, 2022, Canon announced that the i-line stepper "FPA-5520iV LF2 Option" would be released in early January 2023.

As a new semiconductor exposure equipment for the post-manufacturing process of semiconductor devices, this stepper lithography can achieve high resolution of 0.8 μ m and ultra-wide-angle exposure of 100 × 100mm through splicing exposure, which helps to realize 3D technology through lamination and can combine four exposure photos.

CTOnews.com learned that Canon's sales rose 6.5 per cent year-on-year to 588.1 billion yen in 2022, revenue rose 25.8 per cent year-on-year to 49.9 billion yen, general income rose 24.1 per cent to 50.9 billion yen and net profit rose 20.8 per cent to 35.5 billion yen.

In the fourth quarter (October-December 2022), Canon sales rose 4 per cent year-on-year to 160.1 billion yen, operating income fell 7 per cent year-on-year to 12.1 billion yen, general income fell 7 per cent 12.4 billion yen and net profit fell 3 per cent year-on-year to 8.9 billion yen.

Mr. Hatsumi Hirukawa, Director and Senior Executive Officer of Canon MJ, said, "for the whole of 2022, operating income, general income and net income all reached record highs, while sales and revenue increased in all divisions."
