CTOnews.com, January 30, according to the website of the State intellectual property Office, the State intellectual property Office issued a notice yesterday (January 29) that in order to continuously improve the level of informationization and facilitation of patent examination services, the State intellectual property Office has fully implemented the digitization of patent certificates since February 7, 2023.

The State intellectual property Office said that if the parties apply for and obtain patent authorization in electronic form, they shall download the electronic patent certificate through the patent business processing system; if they apply for and obtain patent authorization in paper form, download the electronic patent certificate in accordance with the manner indicated in the notice of obtaining the Electronic Patent Certificate.

CTOnews.com learned that the Patent Business processing system was officially launched on January 11. Users who have improved their information through the unified identity authentication platform can handle relevant patent business through web version, client and mobile channels.

The data show that in 2022, China authorized 798000 invention patents, 2.804 million utility model patents and 721000 design patents. By the end of 2022, the valid number of invention patents in China is 4.212 million. Among them, the valid number of domestic invention patents (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) is 3.28 million. The number of high-value invention patents per 10,000 population in China has reached 9.4.
