China Telecom Research Institute said that by giving full play to the experience and advantages of self-developed and expanded small base stations that have been commercially available, according to product demand specifications, and based on the development status and evaluation results of domestic chips, the core components of localized pRRU are the RF transceiver chip of Beijing Litong Communication and the DFE chip of Nanjing Chuangxin Huilian.

Beijing Litong Communication's 5G RF transceiver chip B20 supports 2T2R, has two independent DPD observation channels and supports JESD204B interface, and Nanjing Chuangxin Huilian's DFE chip ICT7900, which has built-in DPD function and supports OTIC standard CPRI protocol.

The project team took the demand as the orientation, worked hard, independently completed the hardware research and development work such as product technical scheme, chip selection, schematic diagram, PCB design, developed DFE embedded software code, and successfully realized the integrated application of domestic chip devices in pRRU.

At present, the project team has successfully opened the end-to-end business of BBU, HUB and domestic pRRU, and completed laboratory tests. Typical RF indicators such as EVM, ACLR and receiver sensitivity all meet the requirements of line standards and standards.

CTOnews.com learned that the China Telecom project team will carry out the outfield pilot and promotion application of the small base station system based on domestic pRRU in 2023.
