CTOnews.com, January 29, China's smartphone market shipped about 72.92 million units in the fourth quarter of 2022, down 12.6 percent from the same period last year, according to the latest report from IDC.

According to the report, China's smartphone market shipped about 286 million units in 2022, down 13.2% from the same period last year, the biggest drop on record. After a lapse of 10 years, the shipments of China's smartphone market have fallen back to less than 300 million.

CTOnews.com learned that according to IDC data, the top five smartphone manufacturers in China in 2022 are vivo, Glory, OPPO, Apple and Xiaomi. Among them, the top five smartphone manufacturers in China in the fourth quarter of 2022 are Apple, vivo, Glory, OPPO and Xiaomi.

In terms of the folding screen market, in the fourth quarter of 2022, China's single-quarter shipments of folding screen products reached another record high, shipping more than 1.1 million units. Shipments for the whole year were nearly 3.3 million units, an increase of 118% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was higher than expected. In 2022, Huawei, Samsung, OPPO, vivo, Glory and Xiaomi ranked among the top six in China's folding screen mobile phone market share.
