Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Wu Fei brother's left hand clue delivery! CTOnews.com Jan. 28 Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing a person familiar with the matter, that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is investigating Elon Musk's role in shaping Tesla's autonomous driving claims.

The review is part of an SEC investigation into the company's claims about its autonomous driving assistance system. SEC officials are considering whether Musk made inappropriate forward-looking statements, but did not specify which specific statements or activities Musk made that caught the attention of regulators.

Investigations by the agency's enforcement division do not necessarily lead to consequences, but may result in lawsuits, fines or other civil penalties for companies and executives.

CTOnews.com has learned that Tesla's driver-assistance technology has been the focus of Musk's propaganda for years. He personally directed the creation of a 2016 video that may have exaggerated the technology's capabilities, promising that the ultimate fully automated, hands-free driving feature has yet to materialize.

Tesla CEO Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment, while the SEC declined to comment.

In addition, the acting director of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on January 9 that the regulator was working "very quickly" on its Tesla autonomous driving investigation, which opened in August 2021.

Musk is also on trial for allegedly misleading investors, saying in a 2018 tweet that "funds are in place" to take Tesla private.
