CTOnews.com, January 28, Samsung and Qualcomm are expected to reach an agreement that the upcoming Galaxy S23 series will use an exclusive custom chip, officially known as "Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy". But the name is still too long, and Samsung has prepared a more concise way to remind people that the new flagship uses custom chips. The new name is "Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy)".

The modified Snapdragon logo will be used in the relevant promotional pictures. Before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, the relevant promotional pictures have appeared. CTOnews.com learned that previous documents showed that the CPU frequency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip would be as high as 3.36GHz, while Qualcomm's major versions typically run its main X3 core in 3.2GHz.

The chip will be exclusive to Samsung phones, and this form of "Snapdragon for Galaxy" chip is expected to extend to next year's Galaxy S24 series. In the next few years, Samsung MX is developing its own alternative high-performance chips.
