CTOnews.com January 28 news, Google has provided Pixel 7 and 7 Pro repair manual, but only for French users to view.

Google's "Learn more about Pixel repair manual" support article has been geographically restricted to French users, viewing from the rest of the world will return the message "Sorry, this page could not be found," which was not the case last July.

Users can use the Pixel repair manual to try to fix the problems encountered by the phone and repair it. The manual provides step-by-step instructions on how to "repair damaged Pixel phones with genuine parts; disassemble Pixel phones and put them back together; remove and replace parts; extend phone life and protect the environment."

Repairing the device yourself may face safety risks or damage the device. It is recommended that only independent professional maintenance personnel and users with corresponding technical experience can repair the mobile phone themselves.

CTOnews.com has learned that, starting in 2021, France requires manufacturers of smartphones (and other devices such as laptops and TVs) to provide a repairability index. It's a score out of 10, applied by manufacturers themselves based on percentages, where one criterion for smartphones is published documentation.
