CTOnews.com, January 27 (Xinhua) the semiconductor market has been in turmoil over the past few years due to supply chain disruptions caused by the outbreak and recent fears of an economic recession. Despite these hurdles, and Samsung expects profits in its semiconductor business to halve by 2023, Samsung recently announced that it has received a Business continuity Management system (BCMS) ISO 22301 certificate issued by the British Standards Institution (BSI).

The ISO 22301 certificate is the international standard of BCMS and represents the "highest commitment to business continuity and disaster response". CTOnews.com learned that the certificate demonstrates Samsung Electronics'DS division's ability to restore its resilience or business in the event of a crisis within global standards.

"Samsung has shown a strong willingness to have a strong business continuity management system and demonstrated world-class crisis monitoring and response capabilities," said BSI Korea's chief operating officer.

Samsung said it would continue to enhance its business flexibility and management systems so that it could overcome emerging problems such as traditional crises and global supply chain disruptions.

Samsung's goal now is to ensure ISO 22301 certification for its other semiconductor parks at home and abroad. After meeting these standards, the company expects customer confidence to increase.
