CTOnews.com January 26 news, China Shipbuilding Group's Guangzhou Shipping International announced on January 23, the successful entry into force of 2 BYD Group 7000 vehicle dual-fuel PCTC (car transport ship) construction order.

▲ source: Guangzhou Shipping International CTOnews.com learned that BYD 7000 dual-fuel vehicle carrier is 200m long, 38m wide, design draught 9m, design speed 18.5knot, using natural gas (LNG) / fuel dual-fuel propulsion system to meet the requirements of intelligent ship, equipped with battery system, shaft generator for the first time, while using energy-saving devices, drag reduction and antifouling paint and other energy-saving measures.

Guangzhou Shipping International said that the order is the first time that BYD Group has ordered a car transport ship as the ultimate consignor, which will break the "bottleneck" situation of European shipping companies for a long time and ensure the stability of BYD's export supply of new energy vehicles.

Data show that BYD sold a total of 1868543 vehicles in 2022, an increase of 152.5% over the same period last year, ranking first in global sales of new energy vehicles. As BYD's first model for the global market, the BYD ATTO 3 exported a total of 40014 vehicles in 2022.
