CTOnews.com, January 26 (Xinhua) according to the Wall Street Journal, more than 3000 Amazon employees in New York, California and Washington State have recently been informed that they will lose their jobs.

CTOnews.com learned that this is part of Amazon's second wave of massive layoffs. The company has submitted layoff notices to the three states in the past two weeks in accordance with the law.

2320 Amazon employees were laid off in Bellevue and Seattle, Washington, effective March 19, according to the documents. 504 Amazon employees were laid off at different locations in four California cities, also effective March 19, most of them in Sunnyvale, Silicon Valley. 299 Amazon employees were laid off at multiple locations in New York, effective April 18.

Earlier this month, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the company would cut 18000 employees worldwide, a further layoff on top of the 10, 000 layoffs announced in November.
