CTOnews.com, January 25, Microsoft Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Amy Hood said on the earnings call today that Microsoft's employee growth slowed relatively year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2022.

When talking about the reasons for the massive layoffs, Amy Hood said it was because Microsoft wanted the company's cost structure to be more aligned with revenue. "We make decisions very carefully and carefully, after all, we don't want too many talented people to be affected."
