CTOnews.com January 25 news, Microsoft Windows 11 default terminal Windows Terminal today ushered in 1.17 preview update, bringing Mica mica effect, drop-down menu customization and other improvements.

Drop-down menu customization in the 1.17 preview version, Windows Terminal supports drop-down menu customization, including support for adding folders, delimiters and configuration files. Users can modify settings.json files according to their preferences to arrange different drop-down menus.

After the restart process terminates, the user can press Ctrl+D to close the window or press Enter to restart the process.

The Windows Terminal preview of Mica mica effects supports the use of Mica mica as a background effect on Windows 11. Mica is an opaque dynamic material and consumes less performance than acrylic.

Boot location parameters users can now configure the startup location of the Windows Terminal window in the startup section of the setting UI.

The color scheme page update Windows Terminal's color scheme page has been improved again to provide a more intuitive user flow. In the latest preview, after the user clicks the color scheme in the list view and adds a new scheme, they will immediately go to the edit scheme page. The Delete and set as default buttons have also been moved to the edit scheme page.
