Ten days after the successful launch, Asia-Pacific 6e, a domestic all-electric propulsion synchronous orbit communications satellite, officially began the journey of electric propulsion to orbit.
The Asia-Pacific 6e satellite was successfully launched from the Xichang Satellite launch Center by the long March 2C carrier rocket 02:10 on January 13, 2023. Asia-Pacific 6e satellite is mainly used to provide high-throughput communication services for Southeast Asia. Asia-Pacific 6e satellite is a geostationary orbit high-throughput communication satellite, based on the DFH-3E small communication satellite platform design, life of more than 15 years. Carrying high-throughput load and using high-throughput satellite communication system based on Ku frequency to provide broadband satellite communication services for the Asia-Pacific region.
Asia-Pacific 6e satellite, developed by the Fifth Institute of Aerospace Science and Technology Group, is an international commercial high-throughput communication satellite developed by China based on the all-electric push platform-Dongfanghong 3E platform. The satellite is equipped with 25 Ku user beams and 3 Ka gateway beams. the total communication capacity exceeds 30Gbps, effectively filling the gap in the broadband communication market in Southeast Asia.
CTOnews.com has learned that the Asia-Pacific 6e satellite will verify many key technologies such as high-power ion and Hall thruster technology, autonomous flight all-electric propulsion orbit conversion technology, and expandable vector adjustment mechanism technology for the first time; at the same time, the Asia-Pacific 6e satellite will adopt the segmented design of the main satellite and independent propulsion module, and will verify a number of new technologies such as autonomous propulsion orbit transfer, inter-satellite separation, and independent propulsion module derailment for the first time.
