CTOnews.com, January 25, Apple introduced a newer underlying architecture for HomeKit and Home applications in the iOS 16. 2 update, but was removed a week after it was released due to incorrect Bug and installation problems. At the time, Apple said the deletion was temporary and the upgrade option would be "restored soon".

It seems that Apple is almost ready to re-launch the updated Home architecture, as the background code shows that Apple is preparing a "second version" and testing it internally.

Apart from stating that the architecture will be available "soon", Apple did not provide a specific timetable. A new iOS 16.4 Beta beta is expected after the release of iOS 16.3, and this architectural update is likely to appear in this Beta beta.

With the launch of the second-generation HomePod, Apple did mention that the voice recognition feature in the spring update will require a modified Home architecture, but we may see this architecture update before the voice recognition release.

Apple said the update improves the reliability and efficiency of communication between smart home accessories and Apple devices.

CTOnews.com learned that the first version of the new Home architecture caused some HomeKit devices to disappear in HomeKit settings or remain in a "configuration / update" state. It also led to the failure of invitations to share Home with others and destroyed some users' HomeKit security video records.
