Wang Hua, general manager of the public relations department of Xiaomi Group, just responded on Weibo, saying that this is indeed a leak of design documents confidential by a secondary supplier, but the supplier is only a supplier for mold proofing. The leaked document is a design draft of a very early bidding process, not the final document.

In other words, the leaked image shows not the final design of the Xiaomi car.

The revelations also showed that the car welding air duct, side air duct decoration cover, rear bumper lower decoration strip, lower intake grille and so on, all came from BAIC molding. BAIC Molding is a joint venture between BAIC subsidiary Hainachuan and Jiangnan Molding, in which Hainachuan is the parts industry platform of BAIC Group, and Jiangnan Molding is one of the largest production bases of automotive bumper assembly and other exterior products in China.

CTOnews.com learned that, as reported by LatePost later, Xiaomi's first car was a medium-sized slip-back sedan with the internal code name Modena Modena. According to Xiaomi's official timetable for building cars, its first model is expected to be mass-produced in the first half of 2024.
