CTOnews.com January 24 news, according to foreign technology media SamMobile reports, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will use a new OLED touch panel screen. The screen size is 16 inches, the resolution is 3K, the aspect ratio is 16:10, and the refresh rate is 120Hz. Samsung claims this is the world's first OLED panel for laptops with an integrated touch screen.

Samsung Display says integrating a touch screen panel into a display reduces the overall thickness and complexity of the screen. This approach eliminates the need to add extra plastic film to a separate touchscreen layer and is therefore more environmentally friendly.

Samsung Display says OLED panels are a trend in notebooks in recent years, and the company plans to develop larger size OCTA (On-Cell Touch AMOLED) panels for laptops.

Hojung Lee, product planning team leader of Samsung Display's small and medium size display business unit, said: "The difficulty of touch integration technology increases significantly with the increase of display area, resulting in an increase in the number of touch sensors required. By developing new materials and process technologies, we are able to achieve natural feel and touch response for larger displays."

Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is the flagship model of the series, equipped with Intel 13th generation Core i9- 13900H processor, up to 32GB of LPDDR5 memory and 1TB of NVMe SSD PCIE Gen4 storage.

The notebook also comes with NVIDIA RTX4070 GDDR6 8GB discrete graphics. On the screen side, the notebook will feature a large 16-inch 3K AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2880x1800p.

CTOnews.com understands that the laptop weighs 1.8 kilograms and is 17 millimeters thick. The Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will come with a 76Whr battery and a 136W power adapter. This will be a Windows machine running the latest Windows 11 operating system. In addition to all of this, the laptop will feature an AKG-tuned quad speaker that supports Dolby Atmos sound.
