CTOnews.com January 24 news, according to foreign technology media VGC reports, Microsoft has recently issued a subpoena to Sony Interactive Entertainment, requiring Sony to disclose the game release schedule, or PlayStation game development related information. Microsoft's move is a counterattack to Sony in Activision's Blizzard acquisition.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft issued a subpoena on January 17, and Sony should need to respond within three days, that is, January 20, including restriction, revocation, and so on. However, Sony has applied for an extension to respond until January 27.

"SIE and Microsoft are in negotiations on the production scope and release schedule of SIE," the document said. SIE has asked for an extension of the deadline for SIE to take action to restrict or revoke or otherwise respond to subpoenas so that SIE and Microsoft can continue negotiations to eliminate or narrow any issues that need to be brought to court.

In early December, FTC asked a judge to block the deal on the grounds that it would allow Microsoft's home video game console, Xbox, to monopolize Activision games and crowd out Nintendo and Sony's PlayStation.

FTC lawyer James Weingarten said in a brief pre-trial telephone hearing that there were no "substantive" settlement negotiations between the two sides.

Microsoft believes the deal will benefit both players and game companies and proposes to sign a legally binding agreement with the Federal Trade Commission to provide "call of Duty" games to competitors, including Sony. The term is 10 years.
