Recently, Microsoft announced on its official website that it would formally shut down VR's social platform AltspaceVR on March 10, confirming previous layoffs.

Looking ahead, Microsoft sees an opportunity for VR to expand from consumer to business, and now has a bigger goal: to provide a more open, accessible, and secure immersive experience in meta-universe.

To achieve this goal, we made a difficult decision to shut down the AltpaceVR platform on March 10, 2023 and shift our focus to supporting immersive experiences powered by Microsoft Mesh.

In addition, according to AltspaceVR, the ▲ VR social platform, Microsoft's 10,000 layoffs have spread to the gaming division, including Bethesda Game Studios (Bethesda Game Studios), the developer of the "Ancient Scroll" and "radiation" series, and 343 Industries, the developer of Halo: infinity.

CTOnews.com learned that in response to this rumor, 343 Industries issued an announcement saying that the Halo series will not be affected by layoffs and will continue to develop the series in the future and add more content such as stories and multiplayer games.
