This difference between market sales and measured performance has led to speculation of vulnerabilities in the Navi 31 GPU. Several sources subsequently confirmed that AMD was developing a revised version of Navi 31, also known as RDNA3+. However, the latest news is that AMD has cancelled the development of RDNA3+.

Several media reported in November 2022 that AMD was developing a Navi 31 GPU with a clock rate above 3.0GHz. The report also said that the revised Navi 31 GPU will be used on Radeon RX 7990 XTX, RX 7950 XTX and RX 7950 XT graphics card PCB. This possible update is called RDNA3+.

But hardware whistleblower @ All_The_Watts said in his latest tweet that AMD has cancelled RDNA3+.

The tweet states that all RDNA3+ SKU developed by AMD have failed to meet their performance and efficiency goals, and that all prototypes have been sealed.

@ All_The_Watts has previously said that both flagship Navi 31 and midrange Navi 33 in RX 7900 XT / XTX have the same hardware error, but this error was discovered too late to be properly handled. The AMD team hopes to do a "really comprehensive fix" in RDNA 3 +.

In addition to @ All_The_Watts, the Paul of RedGamingTech, another reliable whistleblowing channel, heard similar news from some internal sources.

However, some of Paul's sources believe that AMD is still developing RDNA 3D, but the release time has been significantly delayed. CTOnews.com also learned that the message also made it clear that the mid-range Navi 33 and Navi 32 were not affected, and that AMD would soon introduce related graphics cards.

It is less than 2 months since the release of the first RNDA 3 graphics cards, and it is too early to tell whether AMD has cut RDNA3+. Only time will tell whether AMD really decided to completely discard the RDNA 3 + graphics card.
