CTOnews.com, January 23, according to Janko Roettgers, Samsung is in talks with other manufacturers to introduce its Samsung TV Plus streaming application to more brands of TVs, such as TCL TVs.

Launched in 2015, Samsung TV Plus is a free (advertising) streaming (FAST) service that has been pre-installed for new Samsung TVs in recent years. Simply put, the service provides viewers with an experience similar to traditional TV, with hundreds of free TV channels.

Of course, Samsung TV Plus is also rich in streaming content, and Samsung added hot shows such as Top Gear, Law & Order Special Victims Unit, NCIS and Chicago Fire last August, and it also offers a range of local and national news channels, as well as Samsung's own channels, such as Ride or Drive and The Movie Hub.

CTOnews.com found that Samsung TV Plus currently offers about 1600 channels in 24 different countries and 220 channels in the United States.

But the company seems to be planning to license individual channels to other TV makers. Sources told Roettgers that these negotiations "do not seem to have made any progress", so Samsung turned to provide the entire Samsung TV Plus application to third-party TV manufacturers.

It is worth mentioning that Samsung has been trying to expand its TV Plus coverage for years, whether it is a Galaxy device, an Web or the latest Family Hub refrigerator.

It is reported that vendors including TCL, LG and Vizio have their own free streaming apps, but they are not tied to specific service providers, including Paramount's Pluto TV, NBC's Peacock, Fox's Tubi, Roku and Amazon Freevee.

In addition, Samsung wants to turn its TV Plus service into a broader app, but it is not clear whether other manufacturers are willing to use the app on their televisions.
