CTOnews.com, January 23, Nissan will acquire "up to 15 per cent" of Renault's electric vehicle business, according to the Japan Broadcasting Association NHK. It is reported that the two companies have made final adjustments to the negotiated agreement aimed at adjusting the current capital relations.

CTOnews.com found that companies had previously held 43 per cent of Renault and 15 per cent of Nissan in the capital alliance.

Previously, Renault thought Nissan's investment in Ampere, the electric vehicle business that Renault is currently spinning off, might be lower than expected. Renault has been valuing Ampere at about 10 billion euros and plans to list later this year, depending on market conditions.

The proposal for the deal includes a temporary delegation of shares to another company and a phased sale to reduce Renault's stake in Nissan to 15 per cent, NHK said, citing people familiar with the matter.

In addition, according to the capital relations review, Nissan's investment in the new EV company required by Renault will be "up to 15 per cent", the specific investment proportion or the amount of investment is uncertain.

Looking ahead, it will require a decision from the boards of both companies, and although a final agreement has not yet been reached, we are entering a new phase to achieve the equal partnership that Nissan has been committed to.
