On the way home, they have to recharge a total of three times, waiting for about two hours each time. It takes another hour to recharge."

The difficulty of charging is not only reflected in the road, but also many new energy car owners begin to face the "charging problem" only after returning to their hometown. Some owners of new energy cars have to plug in and recharge their cars in the yard, which takes seven hours to recharge at a time.

Another new energy car owner who drove back to Karamay from Urumqi, Xinjiang, encountered a different situation. There were public charging piles near his home, but the charging parking spaces were full of fuel trucks. The car owner said, "the car has to be recharged almost every two days before the Spring Festival, and there is still about time to wait in line to recharge. When these fuel-fueled cars leave, it is purely a matter of luck, recharging the car and grabbing parking spaces."

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 705.8 million and 6.887 million vehicles respectively in 2022, an increase of 96.9% and 93.4% respectively over the same period last year.

Tian Yulong, chief engineer and spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at a news conference on the development of industry and information technology in 2022 that by the end of 2022, a total of 5.21 million charging piles and 1973 replacement power stations had been built in the country. of these, 2.593 million new charging piles and 1973 replacement power stations were added in 2022.

CTOnews.com has learned that according to the guidelines for the Development of Electric vehicle charging Infrastructure (2015-2020) issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments, the vehicle-to-pile ratio in China will reach nearly 1:1 by 2020. However, according to the data of the charging Alliance, as of 2022, the domestic vehicle-to-pile ratio is about 2.6, which still does not meet this requirement.
