Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, January 22 (Xinhua) Last fall, password management tool 1Password commissioned Method Research to conduct a survey of 2000 adults in the United States and Canada and found that employees' enforcement of workplace security declined significantly during the "long crisis" (permacrisis) era.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that the survey was evenly distributed by gender and age, and found that 79 per cent of respondents said work stress was increased, and more than 1/3 of respondents said stress was significantly higher than in the past.

Forty-five per cent of respondents said they experienced chronic distractions (permacrisis distraction) caused by epidemics, inflation and relationships, leading to reduced enforcement of workplace safety. These security measures include reducing the use of duplicate passwords and avoiding downloading unauthenticated attachments.

The problem seems to be more serious among young workers (87% of Generation Z, compared with 70% of baby boomers). The good news of the survey is that more and more people are aware of fraud in the workplace, and they are very afraid of becoming the ones who create security loopholes. As a result, more of them are using security tools.

In November last year, the authoritative dictionary Collins English Dictionary unveiled the British word of the year: "permacrisis". According to Agence France-Presse, the word has become a common expression reflecting the turmoil caused by Brexit, the COVID-19 epidemic, bad weather, the situation in Ukraine, political unrest and the cost of living crisis. Alex Bicroft, general manager of Collins Learning, an educational institution, said: "Permacrisis sums up quite succinctly what a terrible year 2022 has been for many people."
