CTOnews.com January 22 news, the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO) in this Thursday's public list, Apple obtained an Apple Watch-related technology patent. The patent involves creating a magnetic induction charging and communication system in areas where network signals cannot be covered underwater and underground, and may be equipped on Apple Watch Ultra in the future.

Apple states in the patent description that in certain environments, such as underwater environments, underground environments, high-altitude environments, rural areas, etc., wireless electronic devices may not be able to connect to cellular networks and/or Internet networks, for example. As a result, wireless electronic devices may not be able to communicate in such environments.

CTOnews.com understands that Apple believes it is necessary to provide communications in such an environment. Apple's patent covers a variety of implementation cases, using magnetic induction to achieve charging and communication.

Apple describes the underwater environment in the first example. As with Apple's iPhone SOS satellite connection, underwater communications will have a series of predetermined messages, including but not limited to "Help! "Here! "," rise! "," descend! Sharks! "or any other various predetermined SMS messages that may indicate relevant information in the most efficient manner.

In this embodiment, using inductive charging and communication circuitry, the device may wirelessly communicate (e.g., low frequency magnetic induction signals) one or more messages (e.g., SMS, MMS) to the underwater electronic device #66, which may then send information to the marine electronic device #68.

In the second case, FIG. 12 presented below illustrates that a large high power magnetic field source coil antenna #86 may be placed on a marine vessel #88 (e.g., a small boat or ship) and serve as a surface communication beacon for divers who may be in the ocean.
