CTOnews.com, January 21, according to an official press release issued by Samsung, the company has successfully implemented the feature and Service level Agreement (SLA) on the basis of the existing 5G SA (Standalone) network in Tokyo, Japan, in cooperation with Japanese telecom operator KDDI.

This is the first time that an enterprise in the industry has used RAN intelligent controller (RIN) to generate multiple 5G network slices on the basis of the existing 5G SA network. In this experiment, Samsung provides a software version based on Open RAN architecture, which can optimize the wireless resources of RAN and improve the overall network quality.

CTOnews.com small class: end-to-end network slicing is the most important feature of 5G. 5G network slicing divides network resources into logical or virtual networks ("slices") to meet use cases with different characteristics and service level agreement (SLA) requirements. For example, one slice can transmit a low-latency slice for self-driving cars and another high-bandwidth slice for real-time video streams.
