According to the Metal score on the GeekBench running library, M2 Pro has 19 GPU cores; M2 Max has 38 GPU cores, with a 30% improvement in graphics performance compared to M1 Pro and M1 Max.

According to the latest Metal score test results, Apple's high-end M1 Ultra chip for the Mac Studio last year still has the strongest graphics performance, still 9% higher than the M2 Max.

However, the OpenCL scores of M2 Max and M1 Ultra were roughly the same. CTOnews.com has previously reported the CPU score of M2 Pro. M2 Pro in the new MacBook Pros has a single-core and multi-core score of about 1900 and 15000, respectively, which means that their CPU performance can be improved by up to 20% compared with M1 Pro and M1 Max, which is also in line with Apple's official increase.

According to the information of GeekBench running score database, MacBook Pro using M2 Max chip appeared in the running score library many times on January 18, in which the highest score of single core was 2030 and that of multi-core was 15333. However, the scores of M2 Pro on GeekBench were 1952 in single core and 15013 in multi-core. There was no significant difference in CPU between the two groups.
