CTOnews.com, January 20, Microsoft Office Insider is a project program that allows users to preview Office updates before public release, and now has a new name. Launched more than seven years ago, the program has now moved away from the Office brand to the Microsoft 365 Insider program with "extended access".

Microsoft said the change of name has also expanded the scope of the program, so more posts outside traditional Office applications are expected. Finally, all the release notes are moved to the Learn.microsoft.com website.

If you are an active (Office) Microsoft 365 Insider program participant, users can continue to receive previews without additional action. The Office application will be constantly updated on the Current channel (preview version) and the Beta channel.

Finally, Microsoft reminds users that the Office brand will not disappear completely (it will be written as Microsoft 365 (Office) in the operating system).
